One of the most important or dominant role within the security industry is the door supervision. The door supervisor is the only member of the security guard team, whom the customer will encounter at his first instance. The main aim of the door supervisor is to provide the safe, comfortable and tension free atmosphere where they work. It includes keeping the unwanted people away from the premises without causing any harm to the authentic customers who are there for just fun and to enjoy their day. This is important that no disturbance is created as it can be reflected in the relations with the customers. The door supervisors have a high profile job and hence it is required that they should carry out their responsibilities skillfully and intelligently.
Most of the time, The role of the door supervisors is quite straight. There main aim is to maintain the venue policies such as the minimum age limit for the entry and number of times, the dress code should be proper of the visitor, if any. If the visitor accomplishes all the required details he/ she should be let in with a warm welcome and it the visitor fails to fulfill the conditions he should be restricted politely, and the force should only be applied, if conditions get out of control. Other duties include keeping a check on fire safety requirements, occupancy limit and to protect the occurrence of deadlocks at the entrance and emergency exits.
Summarizing all this we can say that the role of the door supervisor is to keep order at the premises in the terms of law and safety of the visitors. For this a door supervisor needs to have the relevant knowledge of law, conflict resolution and the most important thing is, he should be good in dealing with the customers that is good communicating skills.
To regulate their duties perfectly, the door supervisors are to undergo the specific door supervising training course. Door Supervision training course is designed to educate the door supervisors about the laws governing licensed premises, their management ethics and the best behavioral dealing with the common public. Under the licensing act of 2003, a premises License has been made compulsory, in order to accomplish any kind of Business activities. The licence will be issued by the local authority.

The duration of the course is almost four days. The course include the Thirty classroom Hours and two hours of examination.
