Many people worry about taking training courses. It’s a course, after all — you can pass or fail. And no one enjoys failure. It might be that you were never the best student at school, and you might be worried that you are just not very good at learning.

If that’s a concern of yours, in this blog, we’ll explore a little more about the course and how we can help you pass easily.

The courses are run by professional trainers who know the security industry inside out. They have guided thousands of trainees successfully through the course with information delivered in easy-to-understand language. There are no essays to write at the end of the course. Just a multiple choice to prove that you have listened and learned important but common sense information. You will need to understand and be able to read English, but there is no Maths involved, and if your spelling isn’t great, that is no issue because you will not be asked to write any answers.

When you go on a course, you’ll meet lots of people who are just like you and not only will you make friends, but you’ll be able to help each other as part of a team to pass.

As soon as you book a course, you will receive a pack that includes a free licence armband, but you’ll also get a handbook that contains all the course material you will be learning and a first aid book. By the time you arrive at the course, there will be no surprises if you have read the course material. There are no complicated theories to learn. You will need to remember a few facts, but if you read through the questions and answers carefully, usually, all required is common sense. There are no trick questions to catch you out.

An example of a typical question from Unit 2: Working as a door supervisor is:

Q: During busy hours, you should communicate with customers in joining the venue queue because

A: They may not like the drinks served inside

B: It may help to reduce potential conflict

C: It helps customers to plan their evening

D: It allows customers to be aware of the latest promotions and offers

The answer is B. If customers are left to wait a long time, they may become irritated and frustrated, which could lead to aggressive behaviour. If customers are told that the wait time is twenty minutes, they can choose whether they want to queue and won’t get agitated as they wait their turn.

Another great way to assess the course without commitment is by downloading the GuardPass app for free today. On the app, you have free access to thousands of SIA mock questions and all the answers. You can take mock tests quickly in your spare time using your mobile while out and about. This will show you that the questions are easy. Every time you get a question wrong, you will get results back immediately with the correct answer displayed, and it’s a super fast, proven way to learn and retain information.

Another great way to learn the course material is by visiting the Get Licensed YouTube channel. Many prefer listening to someone speaking rather than reading from a course manual. If that’s you, then short YouTube videos are ideal. You can access videos about mock tests, and our expert trainer Carl will talk you through the correct answers and the reasons behind them. You can also fully access all the course material by learning each unit in longer YouTube videos.

Because we have so many ways to help you learn the material and pass the first time, we have received a 4.8 Trustpilot rating collected by over 20,000 customers. 95% of customers gave us a four or five-star rating. Check out the rave reviews students have left about their friendly and helpful trainers.
