If you are thinking of holding an event and selling alcohol and don\u2019t have a premises license you\u2019ll need a Temporary Event Notice (TEN).<\/strong><\/p>\n

What is a TEN?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

A Temporary Event Notice allows you to hold licensable events at unlicensed premises. By applying for a TEN you don\u2019t need a premises licence or the presence of a personal licence holder.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do I apply for a one?<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The steps for applying for a TEN are:<\/p>\n

    Your application should be sent to your local council.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n

    The application must be submitted ten days before the planned event.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n

    The application will be reviewed and rejected or approved.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Not getting one\u00a0can lead to a fine or a prison sentence of up to six months.<\/p>\n

    What can I do with a TEN?<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

    A licensable activity applies to the sale or supply of alcohol but also to the serving of hot food between\u00a011pm and 5am. You’ll also need a TEN if you are planning to open outside of your normal licensed hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

    You might not know, regulated entertainment also requires a TEN. Regulated entertainment are any of the list that happen in front of an audience.<\/span><\/p>\n
