Are you getting ready to take your Door Supervisor or Security guard course? Taking any course where you can pass or fail is always a little nerve-wracking. And it’s one thing if you could have done better at your GCSEs. You didn’t have to pay to take those!

When you decide to sign up and invest in yourself by launching your career in security, you want to know you will pass.

Well, here at Get Licensed, we are with you all the way to make sure you don’t just pass but ace the course.

We have loads of ways for you to cram for your course, and lots of ways are entirely free and without commitment. You can learn the course material before you decide if it’s right for you. Let’s look at the different ways you can get learning at Get Licensed.

Mock Exams

Mock exams are a great way to assess and learn the course material. The mock exams give you typical questions you are likely to receive and have been asked in previous courses. The mock exams allow you to go through the test just like when you take your actual test at the end of the course.

The mock exams have ten questions and are multiple-choice. That should only take around ten minutes. After you have finished the short test, your answers are delivered immediately to you on the screen without having to open annoying emails with the results. It will show you all the questions you got right, and you’ll see which ones you got wrong. That way, it’s easy to see where you went wrong and to know for next time.

Typical Questions include:

Q. Two customers have just been in a conflict situation; how can you defuse the situation?

A Talk to both customers together in the same room

B Display aggressive behaviour to scare the customers, so they stop fighting

C Separate the customers in different rooms and talk to them one-by-one

D Use physical intervention techniques to show the customers that you are well trained

Answer C is correct. To diffuse a situation, it’s best to separate the two parties as best you can. However, you should not use aggressive behaviour to do this, and physical intervention should only ever be used as a last resort.

Q Which of these would be considered inappropriate when confronting unacceptable behaviour?

A Being threatening

B Showing empathy to show you understand the other person

C Stating the consequences of the behaviour continuing

D Being assertive

Answer A is correct. Always be assertive, show empathy, and, if needed, explain what could happen if things escalate further. You must not be threatening, as this could escalate the situation and put yourself and others in danger.

Many of the answers are common sense or require some basic learning of the easy-to-understand course material. You can find mock exams on the GuardPass app.
