Getting to your training venue in Derby 

 

Train 
A good choice of transport to get to the venue in Derby is to take the train. If you are using this option, then you need to head to the train station in Long Eaton, which is detailed below:

From the train station, the easiest route to take is to jump in a taxi as the venue at the Novotel is just 2.1 miles up the B6002. The Novotel hotel is situated midway between Nottingham and Derby and is located at junction 25 just off the M1.

Unfortunately, the location is not within walking distance from most amenities. You will need a car to get to most places from the venue. The walking score is just 29/100, but there is a bar and a restaurant at the hotel. 

 

Accommodation 
If you are travelling a significant distance to the course, you may be looking for accommodation. The Novotel where the course is based is reasonably priced. The hotel has free Wi-Fi and a restaurant that provides an excellent breakfast for guests. There is also the ibis budget hotel in Derby, which is excellent value for money. Food
If you are heading into Derby city centre for a bite to eat during your lunch hour or after the course, then you won’t be disappointed with what Derby has to offer. If you want a burger, then track down the Hide Burger Bar at Riverside Chambers, Derwent St, Derby DE1 2EP. They offer a relaxed setting with various creative burgers, meats and beer. They also serve great breakfasts. Or why not go for something spicy at Hari Hari, which is at 23 Iron Gate, Derby DE1 3GP, where they serve delicious southeast Asian cuisine. 
The Cosy Club at Royal Bldg, Victoria St, Derby DE1 1ES, serves modern British food in a relaxed setting. If you’re a veggie, then check out Vedi, located at Liversage St, Derby DE1 2LH, which serve all kinds of vegetarian food which you can eat in or take away. Another favourite with locals is El Burrito in the city centre at 2 East St, Derby DE1 2AF, which serves authentic Mexican food. 

 

SIA Job Opportunities in Derby
Like many cities, Derby has a thriving nightlife. There are plenty of bars and clubs in the city centre that are always looking for door personnel. In addition, there are other opportunities for those who want to work during the daytime. Derby has several shopping centres, including the Derbion, Park Farm Shopping Centre, Kingsway Retail Park, and the Cathedral Quarter in Derby.
