    Shortage Of Door Supervisors Could Stop Bars And Clubs from Reopening

      The BBC released an article stating that venues such as bars and nightclubs may struggle to open as planned due to the lack of door supervisors available. 

      As itโ€™s been over a year since nightclubs have been closed, many security professionals have moved into other work and none of the UK nationals has returned to their home countries following the pandemic and Brexit. 

      The UK Door Security Association (UKDSA) have stated that more than half of the positions have not been filled meaning there is currently a huge demand for door supervisors. 

      When things do go back to normal and venues are going to be desperate to open, however the need for SIA Licence holders is going to be larger.

      How to become a nightclub doorman?

      To become a nightclub doorman you must have a value SIA Door Supervisor licence before you can start working in the security industry. This can be obtained by completing our Door Supervisor course and then applying for your licence on the SIA website. 

      Our courses are available from ยฃ149.99 depending on your location, and the cost of the SIA Licence is ยฃ184. Therefore you could be trained and licensed for as little as ยฃ339.99.

      How much can I earn as a nightclub doorman?

      An experienced nightclub doorman can earn up to ยฃ25 per hour and work typically between 20-48 hours. A starter in this industry will be around ยฃ10 per hour. 

      Therefore, if you are just starting out, you can expect to pay off your training course and licence fee within your first week of working!
