You need a personal licence to authorise the sale or supply of alcohol under The Licensing Act 2003.
To get your personal licence, the first step is to attend and pass the 6-hour personal licence course. Once you pass and receive your certificate, you can apply via your local licensing authority (which is usually your local council).
At the end of the course, you'll sit a 40-question multiple choice exam. The questions go over all the knowledge you learned on the course.
Certficates are dispatched within a week after you successfully finish your course. They're sent via Royal Mail. We aim to post your certificate within 2 days after receiving it from your training provider.
We will send you an email once we have dispatched your certificate. If you opted for Secured Delivery, your certificate will be posted with a service requiring your signature.
Get Licensed are proud to provide you with a ‘Faster Results’ service for selected courses and locations. Same Day Results are usually available for APLH Virtual Classes.
Otherwise, expect to receive your results within 5 working days after your course is completed. Our aim is to notify you on the same day the training provider sends us your results.
Your results will be available online and we’ll also send you an SMS to inform you when your results are available.
No. If you're arranging a temporary event, such a festival, and there'll be alcohol sold and regulated entertainment happening, you need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (also commonly referred to as a TEN).
To find out more about authorising the sale of alcohol without a Personal Licence during a temporary event, please contact your local council.
At the end of your training, a 40-question multiple choice exam will be conducted. The questions on this exam are covered on your course.
We understand that examinations can be daunting. With our nationwide 90% plus passing rate, you have nothing to worry about.
