The closest train station is Harpenden. If you are arriving in Harpenden, you can then take a bus that will take around 45 minutes. You will need to walk 8 minutes to catch the 307 to Redbourn for 17 stops and get off after 17 minutes at Wheatlock Mead. It’s then another 20 minutes walk to the destination. 

However, the journey is only 4 ½ miles so you might want to jump in a taxi which takes around 9 minutes, especially on your first day if you are unfamiliar with the area. There are also other main bus routes from other local train stations. 

 

Parking 

If you want to drive into nearby Hemel Hempstead or St Albans in your lunch hour, then there are loads of places to park your car and get out and enjoy the towns.

Food

The nearest place to grab a bite to eat from the venue is the Cricketers of Redbourne. It’s located just 3 minutes' drive away at East Common, Redbourn, St Albans AL3 7ND. You can eat in or order a takeaway online. They serve all kinds of things such as British classics including curry, ribs and lasagne as well as pizza. In Hemel Hempstead there’s a Chiquito’s and a Frankie and Bennies and in St Albans you’ll find a Zizzi’s. 

There are plenty of pubs that offer classic British and more. There are also local cafes where you can grab a reasonably priced lunch such as the Hub which is just 3 minutes drive away at 22 High St, Redbourn, St Albans AL3 7LL. 

 

The Windmill Cafe is an 8 minute drive away and is perfect for a great value hot lunch. They serve jacket potatoes, omelettes, wraps and traditional English breakfast. On top of that they serve amazing ice Italian ice cream. They also serve traditional hot school dinner puddings including chocolate, jam and syrup sponge pudding, apple crumble, bread and butter pudding and spotted dick!

Close to Aylesbury are Hemel Hempstead, Luton, and St Albans. All of these have vibrant and multicultural nightlife with loads of opportunities for door personnel at the many pubs, bars and clubs.
