The course runs over 6 consecutive days and is divided into 4 units and covers everything from the legal aspects of working in security to the latest physical intervention techniques. NEW SIA Course Update (April 2021) From April 1st this course will become a 6 day course instead of a 4 day course. In addition, you must have a first aid qualification before you can take the training. This should be an Emergency First Aid at work certificate or higher.

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to obtain the SIA Licence and work in frontline security roles.

Certificates are available via email within a week of completing the course. You may request a posted certificate at an additional cost of £14.99.
You can work as a Security Guard with a Door Supervisor Licence. In fact, the Door Supervisor Licence is one of the most versatile licences in the security industry. It's important to remember that if you instead take the Security Guard Course, for example, you can't apply for a Door Supervisor badge.
This makes the Door Supervisor Course more valuable when applying for jobs, and will make you more eligible for more work much faster.

Getting To Your Training Venue In Sheffield
Train
You can get to Sheffield from anywhere all over the UK using the Sheffield Railway station. It’s the busiest station in South Yorkshire so there are trains running every minute of the day from local and national towns and cities.

The venue, Best Western Plus Quays Hotel, is an easy five-minute walk from Sheffield Station. Start by walking southeast on the station for 108ft and continue onto Turner Street for another 512ft. When you get to the Park Square roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto exchange Pl/B6073 and keep going right for 243ft, and you’re at your destination.

There’re many great places to eat in Sheffield. Those looking to pass some time while dining in comfort can do this at Imrans Diner. If you’re in a hurry, get your take away grub at Hot Dog Hut. From hotdogs, milkshakes to chips and veggies—there’s no end to their fast food treats. You can get to this hotel via Exchange Street, a distance of 0.3miles and just 7 minutes on foot.
You don’t have to worry about breakfast either. Just pass by Kollective Coffee & Kitchen on your way to training and get yourself a hot cup of coffee and some of their tasty muffins, and you’re good to go.
