NEW SIA Course Update (April 2021) From April 1st this course will become a 6 day course instead of a 4 day course. In addition, you must have a first aid qualification before you can take the training. This should be an Emergency First Aid at work certificate or higher.

You can work as a Security Guard with a Door Supervisor Licence. In fact, the Door Supervisor Licence is one of the most versatile licences in the security industry. It's important to remember that if you instead take the Security Guard Course, for example, you can't apply for a Door Supervisor badge.
This makes the Door Supervisor Course more valuable when applying for jobs, and will make you more eligible for more work much faster.

The SIA Door Supervisor course runs over 6 days and is divided into 4 units: Working in the Private Security Industry, Working as a Door Supervisor, Conflict Management and Physical Intervention. On the final day of the course there will be 4 multiple choice exams and a practical assessment of the physical intervention skills you will be taught on the course.

Parking
The nearest car park for those who choose to drive to the course is NCP London Bloomsbury Square. It offers one entry/exit per booking unless you book a monthly space where you’ll have unrestricted access. If you choose daily booking, expect a £4 fee per 2 hours. There are more car parks within the city, most that are also nearby the venue.

Depending on your residence, you’d prefer to walk to your training. The good thing is that the venue is very easily accessible, with an impressive walkability score of 100 out of 100. That means you can easily reach any destination or run errands on foot once you’re within this area.

If you come from far, it’s only wise to stay at a nearby hotel and avoid the daily transport charges. One of the best places located only a 2 minutes walk from the course is Grange Lancaster. Another nearby location is The Thanet Hotel, and though it may be a bit more costly, their list of amenities extends to free WiFi, complimentary breakfast, and room service. For a quick meal, you’ll find the Turpan Uyghur right next to the venue which is perfect for delivery and takeaway. And from tasty noodles to chicken and lamb, the menu flexibility here is simply incredible! You can get here using three ways, but the easiest route is through Great Russell Street, and it’ll take you only 7 minutes on foot.
Another takeaway eatery that you don’t want to miss out on while attending the course is Little Venice Café. Their offerings range from pasta, egg roll, bacon, chicken, and even English breakfasts—and all these are at reasonable prices! You’ll also find great vegetarian and gluten-free options.
