Getting To Your CCTV Training Course In London-Greenwich

Venue location

Hatcham House, Behind Hatcham Liberal Club, 367 Queens Road London, SE14 5HD

Greenwich is a town in south-east London, England, within the ceremonial county of Greater London. It is situated 6.3 miles east-southeast of Euston.

With its Naval buildings and rich Maritime history, Greenwich attained Royal borough status due to its links to Royal heritage. The town is world-famous for its prime meridian of 0° longitude which creates Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), upon which the whole world bases clock time.

Tourism is becoming an increasingly important factor in Greenwich's economy. In 2015, 18.5 million people were expected to visit the borough for a day or more, generating over £1.2 billion; this figure has increased by more than 25% over the following years.

By Train

If you are coming into London on the overland train you can take an Avanti West Coast and arrive at the National Rail station at Euston, from there you get the tube. Firstly jump on a Northern line - Morden train and get off at London Bridge. Change there for the Southern service to New Cross Gate. Totalling 31 minutes. From there it is a short walk to your venue.

By Taxi

A local company with a good reputation is Ascott Cab Company reviewers say it is the best taxi service in the area.

Another example of a local service is Elease Taxis clean vehicles, safe and cheap.

We can also recommend using Greenwich Airport Transfer Taxi if you are coming in by plane.

By Bus

New Cross Fire Station is the nearest bus stop to your training course and 36, 136, 171, 177, 436, and night services operate through here.

If taking the Northern Line tube train from Euston another option is to stay on until Oval and then get the 36 or 436 bus from there, right to the bus stop outside your venue.

By Road

If you are coming to the training course in a car, let's say from Birmingham, you will want to follow the M6 and M1 to London. To get to Euston take A41, Avenue Road, and Prince Albert Rd/A5205 to Eversholt St/A4200 in Somers Town

From Euston take A4200, A40, A201 and A2 to Pomeroy St/B2227. Turn right onto Pomeroy St/B2227. Then turn left onto Queen's Rd/A202, the venue is on the left.

Parking

For spaces in the area choose Choumert Grove Car Park.Good location parking at a decent price, and the added bonus of free after 6.30 pm and at the weekends. Denmark Hill Car Park is also not too far and has the advantage of a lock-in night fee of £25. Day charges are £4 per hour. A staffed car park is an advantage, but you might not be keen on handing over your keys to an uninsured situation. In which case we recommend using JustPark app, and pre-booking as it is Trustpilot endorsed and has a number of local suggestions for the area.

Walkability

With a 94 out of 100 Walk Score, this area is somewhere you can walk around and not need a car to get the essentials

Accommodation

If you choose to stay over while attending your course the options in the area are varied, try The Birds Nest for a budget-friendly £28 a night, free breakfast, locker access, and charging ports for all guests. It is a hostel over a lovely pub that hosts live bands. Another hostel above a pub in the area is Book A Bed Hostel, they have a kitchen area with use of a large fridge and microwave. Affordable parking on premises is a distinct advantage so at £36 a night it’s worth a look.

Food

You’ll need to eat when you are in town, make your way to Roses Kitchen. Best jerk chicken in the area and friendly service.

Pitta House is good for basic Greek food, with a decent menu, but it's cash only so be aware.

Caribbean food being a speciality around this part of town Smokey Jerkey is well worth a try.

You will also be able to find a hot drink if you’re thirsty, a range of coffee shops can be found here.
