Food and hotels near the venue

If you want to grab a bite to eat during lunchtime, the closest cafe is the Goosepool cafe, which is less than half a mile away. The cafe has a great view of the local airfield to watch light planes take off and land while you tuck into a salad, panini or a local favourite, corned beef pie.

Around 2 miles away, you'll find the Cafe Italissimo. As you'd expect from an Italian eaterie, there are delicious coffees to try and a great value lunchtime special of focaccia sandwich of the day with crisps and a coffee for just £4.95.

MJ's cake cafe is also around two miles from the venue. This is a must for those with a sweet tooth and all foodies. Try their posh fish finger sandwich with salad and mushy peas or hot roast beef ciabatta with roasties. There are also excellent value breakfast sandwiches and delicious American pancakes with various indulgent toppings.

If you are travelling for the course and need a hotel, our best budget option would be the Locomotion Hotel, a 2-star hotel just over 5 miles from the venue or a 10-minute drive. The hotel has a public house, so while no breakfast is offered, evening meals are available, and you can chill out and smoke in the pub or the beer garden. There are also bar snacks available when the restaurant isn't serving, and you'll find wifi and complimentary tea and coffee in the modernly furnished rooms.

The Travelodge Darlington is also just under 4 miles away on the A67. This basic hotel doesn't have onsite catering or a bar, but you can expect super comfy beds and bedding as per the Travelodge brand.
