What is the CITB Site Achieving Behavioural Change Course?
This CITB Achieving Behavioural Change (ABC) course is designed to provide candidates with a basic understanding of how overall behaviour can affect a work enviorment on a construction site
Attitude, behaviour, communication and worker engagement are covered in this course so to highlight that all levels from managers, supervisors and operatives can help prevent the chances of accidents occurring while on a construction site.
The CITB Site Achieving Behavioural Change course can be applied to any construction situation. It features the use of the following:
STAARR (Stop, Think, Assess, Act, Report and Review)
TASK (Think First, Act Safe, Stop if Hazardous, and Keep safe)
This is a simple dynamic risk assessment system used where contractors or suppliers through the life of a programme have not adopted their own system.
What happens after the course?
On successful completion of the CITB Site Achieving Behavioural Change (ABC) course, candidates will be awarded with a Site Achieving Behavioural Change (ABC) certificate accredited by the CITB, which is valid for five years.
This certificate is recognised by most UK construction companies and will also allow you to gain membership of organisations such as APS, IOSH etc.
