With Knife Licences now a possibility in the future, combating terrorism and knowing the signs to look for in a person who has been radicalised by a political or religious ideology is an extremely vital tool, especially for those who work and operate within the security sector.

The Security Industry Authority recognise this and have partnered with the National Counter Terrorism Security Office in a scheme that will give free online counter-terrorism training for Door Supervisors, Security Guards, CCTV Operatives and anyone who holds a valid SIA Licence and works in the security sector.

How does it work?

Step One – Security professionals and SIA card holders should send the Security Industry Authority an email  with the subject “PIN request for ACT e-learning” to request a PIN code.

Step Two – You will receive your own unique PIN number from the Security Industry Authority.

Step Three – Users can log in HERE to access to the ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) e-learning.

What is ACT e-learning?

ACT Awareness e-learning is a new counter-terrorism awareness product designed for all UK based companies and organisations. It provides nationally accredited corporate counter-terrorism guidance to help industry better understand and mitigate against current terrorist methodology.

SIA Licence holders and Security professionals will be able to access skills and techniques that will help the public safe in the event of a terror attack, and will equip them with the adeptness required to deal with the aftermath of a potential terrorist attack.

What will you learn?

Delegates who enrol on counter-terrorism training will be equipped with the skills to identify and respond to suspicious behaviour, as well as the signs to look out for to Identify and deal with a suspicious Item such as knifes and bombs, and the best possible way to respond in the event of a terrorist attack. These skills are invaluable and will prepare and facilitate security professionals with the best possible responsible in the event of a potential terrorist attack.
