To everyone who keeps people safe,

In August 2007, a man walked into my recruitment office and asked if we offered security guard training. I said yes, we do. We didn't, not yet. But I had worked security myself, and I knew what stood between him and the job. That yes became Get Licensed.

Twenty years on, more than 450,000 of you have trained with us and gone out to keep this country safe. So here is how we are marking it. Not a party for us. A thank you to you. We are giving away twenty career starts in security. The full Door Supervisor course, first aid included, and GuardPass in their pocket to go find that first job. Free.

Who can enter

Anyone 18 or over who lives in the UK. You can apply for yourself or nominate someone else. The person nominated must also be 18 or over, live in the UK, and be eligible to apply for an SIA licence. One entry per person per round. Get Licensed and GuardPass employees and their immediate family cannot enter.

What winners get

A free place on our full Door Supervisor course, first aid training included, at any of our 100+ UK training locations, worth £400 or more. Winners also get GuardPass, the free app with mock exams to help pass first time and where employers across the UK post real security jobs. A job itself is not part of the prize and is not guaranteed.

What is not included

The SIA licence application fee is paid separately to the Security Industry Authority and is not covered. Travel to and from training is not covered. There is no cash alternative and places cannot be transferred or sold. If you were nominated, the place is yours alone.

How winners are picked

Entries are judged in monthly rounds by the Get Licensed team. No bots, no raffle. We look for genuine need, an honest story, and a real reason security is the right fit. The first winners are picked this month, and we keep picking in monthly rounds until all 20 career starts are given.

When you will hear back

Every entry gets an answer by email in the round it was entered, normally within 5 weeks. Strong entries that just miss out may be rolled into the next round once, and we will tell you by email if that happens. After that you get a clear yes or no, and you are always welcome to enter again if your situation changes.

Videos

Videos are an optional bonus on top of your written answer, never a requirement. Entries without a video are judged just as seriously. By uploading a video you confirm everyone in it is happy to appear. We will not publish any entry video without asking you first.

Booking the course

Winners choose from available course dates and locations like any other customer. We will hold a winner's place for 6 months from the date they are told they have won.
