The SIA Door Supervisor course runs over 6 days and is divided into 4 units: Working in the Private Security Industry, Working as a Door Supervisor, Conflict Management and Physical Intervention. On the final day of the course there will be 4 multiple choice exams and a practical assessment of the physical intervention skills you will be taught on the course.

Getting to Your Training Venue in London - Lambeth

Train
Getting to your training venue is made easy with three accessible train stations and several nearby bus stops. To reach the training venue in Lambeth, choose any of the following:

Blackheath Train Station
Tranquil Vale, Blackheath, London SE3 9LE, United Kingdom

Maze Hill Train Station
London SE10 9XJ, United Kingdom

Lewisham Train Station
London SE13 7RY, United Kingdom

The nearest train station is Blackheath Train Station, which is about a 6-minute walk far from the training venue.  

If you are coming from Maze Hill Train Station, walk a few yards to Greenwich - Trafalgar Road Maze Hill Bus Stop and take bus number 386. After 5 stops, get off at Blackheath - The Clarendon Hotel. You can also take a taxi for only three minutes ride costing £6 - £8 or walk for 25 minutes from Maze Hill Train Station to the training venue.

The last option is Lewisham Train Station. From this train station, walk for three minutes to Lewisham Bus Station and catch bus number 380 going to Blackheath - The Clarendon Hotel. From the bus stop, walk for about 80 yards going to the training venue to Montpelier Row.

 

Parking
There’s no need to worry about parking as The Clarendon Hotel has car parks at the front and back of the hotel. 50 complimentary parking slots are available but these might be full on busy days. It's worth mentioning that the hotel also has a Tesla Charging service and is free of charge. 

In times of unavailable parking, we recommend parking at the Blackheath Station Car Park, which is about 500 metres from the training venue. On weekdays, the car park charges £2.60 for three Hours, £6.60 for six hours, and £8.70 for 24 Hours. If you decide to have a meal around Montpelier Vale and Royal Parade, you can also park at Blackheath Grove Car Park park at Pay and display parking in Hyde Vale.

The training venue in London - Lambeth has a walk score of 88 out of 100, which means you can go to multiple places on foot. It is easy to eat out, grab a drink and get to shops and banks without relying on a car. 

 

Accommodation
The closest hotel to the training venue is The Clarendon Hotel, a family-run 3-star hotel. It is situated at the heart of the city centre where you can get to local shops and restaurants on foot. 

If you wish to stay at other hotels around Blackheath, you can check OYO The King William Hotel or DoubleTree by Hilton London Greenwich. However, these hotels may be a bit far from the training venue. You can search for more affordable nearby hotels here.

 

Food 
You won't go hungry in this area as there are many food options around Montpelier Vale and Royal Parade, only a few blocks from the training venue. You can select various options of international cuisine, from kebabs and falafels of Köy Restaurant to Sun Bo Chinese Takeaway. For your typical English breakfast, try Montpeliers and choose from its sandwiches and desserts. If you don't fancy going out, The Clarendon Hotel serves a full English breakfast and British and international dishes.

 

SIA Job Opportunities in London - Lambeth
Lambeth is a place full of bars and clubs, and has a buzzing nightlife which requires security staff to monitor customers. There are also plenty of shopping centres in the area including Lewisham Shopping Centre and Leegate Shopping Centre, which are also always in need of daytime security personnel. The London City Airport is close to the area and security staff are therefore in high demand.
