Yes, you must have a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence, to legally work in this role. Completing the Door Supervisor training course is the first step to getting licensed.

The course typically takes 6 days to complete. This includes classroom learning and practical assessments.

Once you pass, you’ll receive a certificate to apply for your SIA licence. You can then legally work as a door supervisor in the UK. Many learners also get access to job opportunities through platforms like GuardPass.

You must:

Be 18 years or older
Have a valid Right to Work in the UK
Have a good standard of spoken and written English
Complete Emergency First Aid at Work training before starting the course.
